John 5:1-9 The Message

 Jesus was a “change-maker”; he dared to be different and often went against the religious leaders, who were the “play-it-safers” of his time, the keepers of the status quo of the Jewish faith.  His motivation was not to “startle" and draw attention to himself in a self-centred way.  Jesus’ push for change was God-centered and based on compassion, which called people to “arise” and move into the fulness of life.
