 Hands and Hearts for Africa is excited to announce 2 new special events celebrating Stephen Lewis Foundation's amazing work over the past 20 years with African families impacted by AIDS.  

1-Fall Tour of 20th Anniversary Quilt     As some of you may remember, a special 20th Anniversary Quilt is in the making and we are pleased to report that it is on track to be completed in May 2023! To add to the excitement around the quilt,  the Foundation has recently announced that this special quilt will be sent on tour with 35 potential viewing stops this Fall.   This Anniversary Quilt is stitched with loving care and colourful fabric by grandmothers in Africa , Canada, USA, UK and Australia. Hands and Hearts for Africa has applied to become an honoured host for this special quilt in the Fall. Whether we are chosen or not, please stay tuned for further news of the Anniversary Quilt and our own celebration of fabric art.  

2- International Granny Gathering   Stephen Lewis Foundation has just announced that there will be a special International Grandmother Gathering in Winnipeg in late October of 2023. This will be a time to celebrate how SLF has supported and empowered African families and communities impacted by AIDS. As some of us have experienced in the past at such gatherings, this International Grandmother Gathering will inspire, challenge, encourage and inform. The most cherished moments will be hearing the stories of African grandmothers and African Partners, who are on the frontlines of the ongoing African AIDS crisis.
