As I return from my summer leave, I would love to share one of the meaningful experiences from my time away. It is hard to believe that 19 months have passed since I first received an invitation from The United Church of Canada to co-lead worship with The Presbyterian Church in Canada for Collective 2026. This summer, that long journey came to life at Brock University as we welcomed more than 500 young people and leaders from across Canada. I am grateful for the openness and trust that allowed creativity to flow and brought these liturgies to life. We shared goldfish crackers and grapes for Communion, offered beaded fish, danced and tossed beach balls during worship, and even replaced hymns with a DJ set one evening. Together, we transformed our worship space into a beach and a campfire. It was also a great joy to welcome the Moderators and General Secretaries of both denominations. Thank you to the wonderful worship team and everyone who made this experience possible. Now, I am glad to be returning home to Richmond Hill United Church. I look forward to seeing you this Sunday, September 6, for worship in Centennial Hall! —Rev. Mini Choi
