Coldest Night of the Year – RHUC “Hike United” Team
It’s cold out there. And this February, RHUC is doing something about it.
Together with thousands of Canadians across the country, we’re walking and fundraising to support people and families experiencing hurt, hunger, and homelessness in our community.
On Saturday, February 28 at 4:00 pm, Blue Door’s Out of the Cold will host the annual Coldest Night of the Year (CNOY) walk at Lauremont School (Bayview & Hwy 7).
RHUC has formed a team — “Hike United” — to walk, raise funds, and increase awareness for this worthy cause.
We invite you to:
Join the team as a walker
Sponsor one of our walkers
Or cheer us on and support the cause
Here is the link for Contributions.
You can read more about CNOY, but here’s the bullet point summary:
Main Event:
All CNOY locations host an organized, in-person event with:
2 km and 5 km signed routes
Rest stops
Volunteers
Snacks at the finish
Offsite Walk Option:
You may also fundraise and walk on your own, any day in February, choosing your own route.
Registration:
CNOY is completely free to join. Everyone is welcome!
Toques:
When you fundraise ($150 for adults, $75 for youth 17 and under), you’ll receive a cozy CNOY toque as a thank-you.

RHUC, St. Mary’s Anglican, Richmond Hill Presbyterian, and St. Matthew’s are working together to provide a warm chili dinner after the walk, featuring:
Vegetarian and meat chili
Fresh bread
Sour cream and grated cheese toppings
And Ralph Dunham’s famous soup!
A heartfelt thank-you to our chili makers — that’s covered!
However, we can always use extra hands for serving and cleanup.
If you’d like to help, we’ll gladly find a place for you.
