The Spiritual Practice Team (SPT) at the last meeting discussed what to do in case of an emergency on a Sunday morning. (i.e. no power, no heat)   If there is a severe weather event which means it's not safe to open the building for a Sunday morning service, several things will happen:

1) Rev. Karen Dale will send out an e-mail (if there is power) informing all congregation members who have e-mail that the service is cancelled. If in doubt, please check your e-mails before heading out to church.

2) If the roads are too dangerous for Karen to make her way to Richmond Hill, the Chair of the Board (currently - Doug Loweth) will be contacted and will try and send out this important congregational e-mail.

3) Howe Foo will update RHUC's Facebook page and Instagram account, again, assuming that he has power to be able to do this.

4) Howe Foo will also post a note on the Zoom screen as he did last time we had to cancel Sunday morning worship due to no power/no heat. (May 2022)

5) If you are not on e-mail or the other social media sites, perhaps call a friend or neighbour to check with them about a possible cancellation.

Let's hope we don't have to use these protocols too often. Thank you to those willing to help out with the process.   For your information, the SPT is comprised of the following people: Rev. Karen Dale, Barry Peters, Carol Moore, Joan Verner, Anne Dunn, Anne Leyton-Brown, Linda Clark, and Sandra Loughton.
