 Türkiye and Syria Earthquake Response

We are providing essential emergency relief in response to the devastating earthquakes. A powerful earthquake in Türkiye (formally known as Turkey) and the surrounding region struck in the early morning of February 6, 2023, followed by another less than 12 hours later and another two weeks later.

Türkiye and Syria also continue to face severe weather conditions, as winter storms are bringing snow and icy winds to the area. Türkiye hosts the world’s largest refugee population for the eighth consecutive year, with just over 4 million refugees and asylum-seekers under temporary and international protection.

UNHCR is working around the clock to rush essential relief to those impacted but we need your help to replenish depleted supplies. Your donation will help provide immediate assistance including shelter, tents and blankets, as well as other non-food items, hygiene and medical items to displaced people in Syria and Türkiye.
